Providing for Those Who Cannot


Imagine being able to provide a computer for a child without having to do the work of getting that PC ready - that's what sponsorship is.  $60.00 will pay to completely refurbish a PC, install Windows 7 and other software, make copies of user manuals, and give a PC to a child at no cost.  Please call our office (217-528-9506) to set up a sponsorship (or several!).

If you have received a computer from Computer Banc and need assistance, please call (217) 528-9506.


We accept all computer related equipment from businesses, large and small and from individuals.

Data Destruction

When you drop off or if we pick up…

​We wipe all hard drives for no charge. Every hard drive received at our facility undergoes a thorough data removal process which eliminates all personal and confidential information. Hard drives are wiped to Department of Defense 5220.22.M standards or higher. 

Come Join Our Team of Volunteers!


There are typically 7 to 25 volunteers at each work session or tech night.  In 2012, there were
 over 3000 volunteer hours. At a conservative rate of $40 per hour, that amounts to $10,000.00
donated to Computer Banc in a single month!


When is Help Needed?

Tech Nights (every Tuesday from 6-8 pm)
 Work Days (usually the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 am-2 pm)
Office Hours (Monday through Friday from 1-4 pm).

What Can I Do for Computer Banc?

We can use volunteers of all talents:


  • Fixing computers or installing software
  • Organizing or filing
  • Fundraising
  • Moving equipment around
  • Simple cooking for volunteer lunches
  • Writing articles for the Newsletter
  • Data entry or database design
  • Phoning clients
  • Mailing flyers

Light Office Support
Monday through Friday afternoon 1:00 - 4:00 pm
  • Data Input
  • Photocopying
  • Appointment reminder calls
  • Assistance with mailings

Customer Service Assistant

About once a week - Tuesday evenings 6:00 - 8:00 pm


  • Coordinate the pick-up process for our families when picking up their PC.
  • Oversee the short paperwork process
  • Help clients set up their computer (optional)

Please note: A Parent (or legal guardian) must sign the paperwork for and attend the first several
sessions with any volunteer under age of 18.
